| Pekiti-Tirsia comes from the Island of Negros in the Philippines. It was created by the Tortal family of Negros and more specifically Conrado Tortal and his brothers. Handed down from father to son Pekiti-Tirsia was refined and developed into simply one of the most practical and effective Full Combat System on the Planet. Pekiti-Tirsia begins with 3 Main Categories: Edged Weapons, Impact Weapons and Empty Hands. The grandson of Conrado Tortal is Grand Tuhon Leo t. Gaje Jr. (seen here to the right) who is the sole inheritor of the Pekiti-Tirsia system. |

Tuhon Gaje came to the United States in the Early 70's and really introduced the Filipino Martial Arts to the US. He taught so many people throughout the years some of whom have stayed loyal and some of whom who have not, but clearly his teachings were the beginning of so many others in the US. Just to name a few Tuhon Gaje instructed Guro Dan Inosanto and the late Edgar Sulite. Tuhon Gaje is one of those rare old world instructors who teaches you the right way from beginning to end and I consider it one of the great blessings in my life to have trained with him. - Guro Allen J. Sachetti Pekiti-Tirsia is quite simply the most Functional and Effective Combat System on the Planet! Effective for everyone no matter what their size, shape or ability. Agalon Guro Allen J. Sachetti began his training with Tuhon Leo Gaje in 1991 when he met him in the Philippines. It was fate Tuhon Leo met Allen right after he had been attacked with a knife the night before. Tuhon Gaje invited Allen to go and travel to his Island of Negros where he began learning the art of Pekiti-Tirsia. Guro Allen has continued to train with Tuhon Gaje since then in the Weapon and Empty Hands (Dumpag) Systems Of Pekiti-Tirsia. |
